Virtual Field Trips
Since we can't take field trips or invite guest speakers into the classroom, let's go virtual! Some of our favorite virtual field trips are with museums and national parks, like the Frida Khalo Museum (during a unit on Mexico) and Fort Raleigh National Historic Site. (great for when you're studying The Lost Colony of Roanoke!) Sometimes you can find a video or 360 tour, other times you can connect with a staff member who will answer students' questions live via Zoom or Meets.

We also highly recommend Skype a Scientist, a free-to-teachers service that connects scientists in a huge variety of fields with classrooms all over the world. Teacher-scientist pairs can decide how they want to connect. We've talked with brain surgeons, fisheries experts, paleontologists, and space engineers.

Review Game Zone has tons of pre-made games, and it's easy to add your own.
WordWall has games, interactives, and printables all in one place with your questions or those from the community.
Peardeck is a Chrome extension that makes your Slides interactive. Students can match, draw, add text, and more.

Digital Handouts
Google Slides is such a versatile tool! You can add an image as a background on a slide, then create elements for students to drag onto the image, or text boxes so they can label.
TeacherMade lets you digitize any papers so that students can "write" on them, and it's self-grading!
